Steemit, the once very popular platform for anarchists, Libertarians and crypto-heads in General – not to mention all sorts of other demographic groups, such as photographers and Lifestyle bloggers shifted their activities, according to a press release, which was released on Valentine’s day, on the Tron network.

“Steemit Inc., the largest decentralised, Blockchain-based Social Media and Blogging platform, announced a strategic partnership with the TRON Foundation“, – stated in the message. “The development team of TRON and Steemit will begin immediately with the cooperation, in order to Steemit and other Blockchain-based DApps of Steemit on the TRON-migrate the Blockchain and your community of over 20 million users, products and services contribute.

The former Steemit-CEO and co-founder Ned Scott tweeted:

Steemitans and Twitterers, after four beautiful years, I have sold Steemit to @justinsuntron. AMA tomorrow at 9am PT. https://t.co/ZlCKRZbq3L https://t.co/XOCjyjd0TQ

The Ask Me Anything Video shows the Tron founder Justin Sun in conversation with Scott and explained the details and implications of the deal. In the case of the explanation of why he sold the company, explained to Scott that he is “for personal reasons” and that “there are a few other companies that I’m working on a private behind-the-Scenes”. This is remarkable, since one of the most common criticisms of Steemit was in the past, the project-Hopping of leaders, the founder of Bitshares-Dan Larimer, Scott helped in the founding of Steemit, the project in 2017, left to work on the development of EOS.

Stem community reacts to the recent Acquisition of Sun

The founder of Tron, Justin Sun, has acquired in the crypto-space has the reputation of organization financially large steps he has taken in 2018, Bittorrent, and last year, the Blockchain-based Streaming platform Dlive. Dlive was originally built on the Steem Blockchain and was popular with the users of the Steemit platform, before it migrated in front of the Tron-Migration to the Lino-network. In recent news, the Sun could stop at last to be suspended lunch with the multi-billionaire Warren Buffet, after he had spent 4,57 million dollars.

Suns big steps not impress all, however, and some Steemianer are very concerned about how the Steem-Token to be migrated and how the new “Tron-Steem”platform might look like. Sun’s announcement of a contribution to Steemit that has collected at the time of the press release about 150 dollars in Steem, has brought about many questions from Community members. A user has commented on this:

I’m due to Steem here, not because of Tron. I have zero interest in what Tron has to offer, and the relocation of Steem in the Tron network is something that will happen without me.

Regarding the concerns about the currency changeover, the Sun said in the AMA from the 16. February, together with Ned Scott:

I don’t think we have a Plan for an immediate exchange as the Token Swap, so I think we will keep both the Steem – as well as the Tron-Token separately and run separately … there is no Token to Swap for the Moment … I just want to talk with the Team, and the best solution for the Integration of Steem, Steemit and Tron to find out.

The mag well and sound nice, but for the dedicated Blogger, who came in search of a real decentralized social media to Steemit and in the Blockchain and the platform have fallen in love, is the official press release is clear: “Together, the TRON Foundation and Steemit Inc. try to create additional value for their users and to reinforce your progress in the decentralised technologies,” it States, “including the relocation of the old STEEM Tokens in a new, TRON-based STEEM-Token”.

Some are not so pessimistic and hope that the sale could be a long-overdue shot in the Arm of the appreciation in the crypto-space and beyond. What relates to Scott, as he notes in the press release: “Since the launch of the platform in 2016 with a tight Budget and an idealistic Team to date, I have enjoyed the development of the platform and the growth of its user base – now I am looking forward to the attempt of a strategic partner to lead you to new heights.
