Study program “eSports Management” starts in Vienna

University of applied Management (HAM) and the eSport Association Austria (ESVÖ) bring study program “eSports Management” to Vienna.

Already in the winter semester of 2020 / 21 to the start of the unique Bachelor’s degree program “eSports Management” at the University of applied Management (HAM) at the Campus Vienna fall. In the training of digital Sport, designers of tomorrow, the University, in particular the Institute for eSports (IES), the eSport Association Austria (ESVÖ) is, as a Central point of contact for the Austrian structures.

eSports is considered to be the largest sports social movement of recent times. The University of applied Management through the program “sports management with a focus on eSports Management,” a platform for the formation of scientific and practice-oriented knowledge exchange in the digital Sport. As a cooperation partner, the IES was able to win the leading promoters of digital Sports in Austria, the ESVÖ,.

The course of study “eSports Management” is to sports-, Gaming – and Entertainment-interested professional beginners who wish to be in the innovative growth market of digital Sports activities. The study is designed as an Online course with attendance phases; the presence of times are held on the Campus of Vienna. According to a study duration of 7 semesters, the students complete the training with the Academic degree “Bachelor of Arts in sport management”.

The degree in “sport management, with a focus on eSports Management” is offered since the winter semester 2018 / 19 at various locations in Germany successfully. With the winter semester of 2020 / 21 the study is extended for the first time to a location in Austria. The tuition fees of private, state-accredited College or University, amount to 395 € per month.
