Microsoft warns that attackers use the vulnerability in Internet Explorer

Windows 10, 8.1 and 7 have pre-installed Internet Explorer. Now Microsoft warns of a new vulnerability, which is used for attacks.

Currently Microsoft has released the patch Tuesday in January 2020 a lot of security updates, as the manufacturer informs about the next critical security hole. Is affected by the Internet Explorer (IE) versions 11, 10 and 9, and the versions of Windows 10, 8.1 and 7 as well as Windows Server 2008, 2012 and 2016. It was discovered, the vulnerability of employees of Google’s Threat Analysis Group, and Qihoo 360.

As Microsoft explains in its Security Advisory, allows for the vulnerability CVE-2020-0674 attackers to gain Remote Code execution on the JScript.dll-library. On the victim’s Computer that could allow arbitrary Code could be executed on the same rights level as the user. The vulnerability is especially dangerous if the user is logged on with administrator rights.

Single targeted attacks on the Basis of this Internet Explorer vulnerability have already been confirmed by Microsoft. A Fix was in the works and should be released at the next patch Tuesday in February 2020.
