Maneater – The first shaRkPG
Sharks join us codified, pop cultural pictures already for a long time as a bloodthirsty antagonist. His reputation as a behind hältigem tourists a fright with an appetite for suntanned bathers has, not least, Steven Spielberg’s Film Jaws (1975), which, in turn, on Peter Benchleys novel of the year in 1974, is based, contributed significantly. But also in video games are sharks welcome adversary: Of Tomb Raider, about Resident Evil to Far Cry followed us to the predatory cartilaginous fish with the revolving set of teeth. Tripwire Interactive is turning from the 22.05.2020 with Maneater the spit now is not easy, but breaks the same, as it were, in half.
In Maneater, which at the 22.05.2020 for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC – the Switch Version still has no official Release date to obtain, we do not simply hunt for sharks, but slip into the skin of the former arch-enemy of literature, Film, and video game history, the now the people Fear to teach. As a Bull shark, we are out for revenge on the murderer of our mother: Scaley Pete!
The Action role-playing game – or shaRkPG, as Tripwire Interactive it’s called – Maneater leaves us orphaned and scars disfigured Bull shark from the third-person view through an open maritime game world. The same is divided into seven areas, and in addition to the main story with a genre-typical side-quests, which we use to develop our shark a Megalodon – an extinct shark – and teach Scaley Pete Fear. As the narrator of this wet reinterpretation of Bambi acts Chris Parnell, the Fans of the series Archer as a speaker of the character Cyril Figgis is known for.
