IOTA is criticized after 15 hours of Downtime greatly
The IOTA network was able to process more than 15 hours with no transactions after a software error had caused a “corrupt Ledger-state.” While the developers were able to solve IOTA of the Problem, there was sharp criticism regarding the response of the company.
Users who wanted to send IOTA of money, had on Sunday, no luck, since the network was the biggest part of the day is not available. The ambitious project, which has to contend with both the acceptance as well as a long process of development seed, met on Sunday morning on an error that prevented the recording of transactions.
The Problem in the Mainnet lasted well over 15 hours, with countless user values in the case of Reddit and Twitter that they could not use the network. When the first complaints about the failure of the network appeared, reacted is the co-founder of IOTA, David Sønstebø, on the statements of the users and explained that the network had a “small error”.
He called on the IOTA-users “to show a little gratitude,” as the IOTA-developers “had” is dropped, in order to solve the Problem as quickly as possible. Soon after, published IOTA-developer Gal Rogozinski, a Mainnet-Upgrade, which solved the Problem that disabled the network. The Problem has been fixed in Version 1.8.3, the developer said.
In a GitHub Post, it was said:
There is a borderline case, in the IRI [IOTA reference implementation] a transaction that was shared by two different Bundles, was not taken into account. Once you have been tagged in a Bundle as a ‘counted’, she was ignored for the next Bundle.

The message that IOTA was not for more than 15 hours of active, spread like wildfire through the crypto-Community. However, it was not the error itself that caused many to criticize the network, but the way the IOTA Team has dealt with the Problem.
Sønstebø classified the errors as “minor” and said that the biggest Problem is the fact that it happened during the holidays. He said:
It is really no different than in periods in which the network was flooded with Spam and as a result, the real Tx (note: transactions) were significantly slows down.
Dave de Fijter, one of the main developers of IOTA, said that the Tangle of self-functioning, when he was asked after the error, and added that the value transactions were the Only thing that “not” is confirmed.
These reactions have brought IOTA a place in the Comedy section of the CryptoCurrency Subreddits. The reactions to the post were mixed, to say the least, with half of the Reddit Community IOTA for the poor treatment of this topic, made ridiculous, while the other half defended the Team and requested to remove the topic from the “Comedy” section.
“I used to be interested in IOTA, but I stopped to pursue it, because of the attitude of the developers,” wrote a Reddit user, and repeated the opinion of many others who have joined the discussion. Some have even noted that the failure time, which has seen the network, has shown that IOTA can not compete with Bitcoin or Ethereum, which is a (close to) “100%-owned operating both since their founding time.”
