Bitcoin.com and HTC partnership for Exodus 1

Bitcoin.com and HTC have entered into a partnership, to the HTC Exodus of expanding the mobile use of crypto-currencies. The Exodus 1 Smartphone will pre-install the Bitcoin.com Wallet App, and thus support for Bitcoin Cash (BCH) offer.

According to a press release from HTC and Bitcoin.com have signed a contract, which stipulates that the Smartphone manufacturer will use the on the Website provided Bitcoin Cash Wallet application as a native complement to the Exodus 1 and more cost-effective Exodus 1S. Existing Exodus 1 users can now update the Software on your devices to get access to a pre-installed bitcoin.com Wallet-App. In the case of all newly-acquired Exodus 1 Smartphones the Bitcoin.com Wallet is pre-installed by default.

The agreement aims to expand the current user base of bitcoin.com with over four million Wallet holders in the world, and to establish HTC as a leading manufacturer of Blockchain-based smart phones, a growing sector. One of the biggest competitors, Samsung has recently announced support of Bitcoin (BTC) for its Galaxy Smartphone line.

Smartphones are critical of the media, in order to maximize the global reach of cryptocurrencies. According to the Pew Research Center, 81% of Americans currently own Smartphones, compared to 35% in 2011. This number rises to 96% among users aged 18-29 and 92% of users aged 30-49 years, or about 226 million Americans. According to Statista, the number of Smartphone users exceeds three billion, and will grow in the next years it is expected that several hundred million more. China, India and the United States are the countries with the highest number of Smartphone users, with each country to exceed the 100-million-user mark.

However, many Bitcoin (BTC)-supporters are outraged by the announcement. Some claim that the Software, use the HTC, the BCH functionality, not stable enough for such a support is, and others say that such a support will only serve to confuse a newcomer in the industry. In the past, the Bitcoin Cash community has been trying to need the brand awareness of Bitcoin to promote BCH as the “true Bitcoin”.

Phil Chen, Chief Officer at HTC, said of the partnership:

Furthermore, Chen stated that the Update is a natural next step for the Smartphone:

An Update in may made it possible for the users to crypto-currencies directly in the Zion Vault Wallet share.
